Free Domain Name

A domain - that was what I required for my yet-to-be-established site. I had it all worked out in my mind. I got a web design and web content idea, I knew that I required a Linux-based web site hosting service and that I had to register a domain name.

Asking Around Brings Results

My principal dilemma was what domain name to select for my site. It had to be easy-to-remember, attractive, and, well, available for registration! I went through quite a few till I found one that was available for registration, but then I spotted the excessive price, as I had chosen a .co.uk domain name. These country-code TLDs are clearly more costly than the popular .com, .net, .org, etc. domain names. With my slender budget, I just surrendered that idea and began considering finding another hosting vendor. I shared my idea with practically everybody I could think of who had a clue about websites and the web in general, so a buddy of mine showed me the web site LONEX.COM and exclaimed: "Here you go! Low-priced web site hosting plans! And a cost-free domain name!"

I Discovered My Host! Hurrah!

It goes without saying that in the beginning I thought that he was joking, but he wasn't. These chaps from Lonex.com provide modest website hosting packages - on shared hosting servers, which does not seem to be a problem for small and mid-sized websites. Furthermore, they are based in the United Kingdom, and have web servers in the UK. Well, not only - but also in the United States of America, Sweden and Australia, but what I wanted was a United Kingdom-based web hosting solution anyway. The greatest plus, however, is that they offer a free domain name if you register for a year rather than paying on a monthly basis! That does not apply to .co.uk domains, unfortunately, since they are registered for a period of two years by default, but .com, .net, .org, .biz and several more domain names come for free, so how could I disregard this free offering?

I'm Satisfied With My New Host!

With the free domain name registration and their cut-rate domain and web hosting package prices, these chaps convinced me. I did sign up and even received a tool that could help me create my site - its name is Site Studio. A web site builder with - I did attempt counting but lost count! - over 70 site layouts suitable for both commercial and personal web portals. Now, isn't that stunning? And the bonuses do not stop there! I am one fortunate lady! Now, enough prattle from me, I should continue with the making of my web site magnum opus!
